Grade 11 & 12 – IB Diploma

Welcome to St Andrew's Upper School Years 12 & 13, where we teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. In February 2003, St Andrew's was authorized to teach the IB Diploma Programme, the first school in the Bahamas to achieve this. The IB Diploma Programme has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving IB Diploma holders access to the world's leading universities.

The IB Organization has shown, over the course of more than 40 years, that its students are extremely well prepared for university work. The programme is a comprehensive two-year international curriculum, which also allows students to fulfil the requirements of their national systems.

Here at St Andrew's, we offer 20 IB subjects, along with the three core elements at the heart of the IB Diploma Programme: Theory of Knowledge (TOK); Creativity, Action, Service (CAS); and the Extended Essay. They provide the diploma with its unique characteristics. Also, this programme allows internationally-mobile students to transfer from one IB school to another as the need arises.
